Tips to write a GOOD Resume for freshers !


In our last Post ' What you should NEVER include in your resume ! ' we talked about what we should  not include in our resume.Now in this post we have tried to include best things that must be in your resume.

Use keywords in your resume that match with what the employer is looking for :


Review the advertisements posted and use the key words in your resume to match with what the employer is looking for. You must showcase to the employer your relevant skills and qualification to suit that particular position.



Think of what makes you unique :


Remember your resume is marketing a brand called you. It is a tool that you could use to your benefit if it is crafted well. See that you enlist your features and benefits that they just can’t be missed. Think of what makes you unique and definitely include that. Make sure that all the relevant information is there.

Number of Page in Resume:


Recruiters never read your resume; they do a spot check of your resume.Lengthy resume does not make you more impressive, and there are many other reasons to keep your resume short too.There is a good practice to keep your resume to one page when you have less than 5 years of experience or at maximum two pages .



Use an appropriate font size:


See that your resume reads easily. Format it carefully, use an appropriate font which is no smaller than 10.

Use Tables in Your Resume:


Use tables to show your year wise qualifications. It helps interviewer to understand your achievements easily.

Use of Bullets:


Use bullets in your resume to show . It gives good visibility to the interviewer .

Add Your Projects:


Candidates must add their top 3 - 4 projects in their resume either academic project or industrial projects.  

Get someone else to review your resume:


Ask someone to review your resume before you send it so that any flaws can be picked out and rectified. Also ask them to ask you questions based on your resume so you can practice answering convincingly.



Create an email proof formatting:


It is very likely that you will end up sending your resume via email to most companies. Apart from having a Word document ready to go as an attachment, you should also have a text version of your resume that does not look disfigured in the body of the email or in online forms. Attachments might get blocked by spam filters, and many people just prefer having the resume on the body of the email itself.
